To begin the 2020-21 NBA Season, we wanted to bring fans closer to the action given COVID restrictions.
Working with Sky Candy Studios, we ideated a first person drone flythrough of Target Center on Timberwolves Media Day - the first of its kind within sports.
Jay Christensen, the drone pilot, teamed up with Timberwolves Executive Producer Erik Nelson along with Director of Digital Production Noah Ferche to complete the flythrough in one attempt. In total, the video garnered over 5 million views while generating a season-high in revenue through Twitter’s Amplify program. Since its introduction, the Wolves Media Day FPV video has been replicated by HBO’s Hard Knocks, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., and several others.
